So, good news? Supernatural's back &, "his name's Castiel. He wears a trenchcoat."

Bad news? OH GOD, THIS EPISODE SUCKETH MIGHTILY. Not even the fact that it was offensive, how do I even begin to explain how much - ETA: apparently [livejournal.com profile] aesc knows exactly how much, and how - but that it was just bad. The character "insights" were forced, the villainness sexual and stupid - STOP WITH THE EVIL TEMPTRESS! - and every time a character opened their mouth to dictate / give advice I just wanted to smack them, because the messages you are sending? Wrong, wrong, wrong. And that doctor, jeez, how'd he get his medical license? Cereal box? That is not how you treat people who are mentally ill. That's not even how you treat your grocer.

AAGH. JUST, THIS SHOW MAKES ME SO FRUSTRATED SOMETIMES.

To be honest, I really shouldn't expect any better from the ones who gave us "...The Children Are Our Future", but I had somewhat high expectations. Guess they showed me!

Yeah I can buy that. Getting anything out of Dean has always been like pulling teeth, and he's never liked to think about Sam being different, way back to "Nightmare." And Sam's bad choices notwithstanding, he's his own person. Yeah, I think he needs Dean, but Dean needs him too. It's not the same dynamic they had when they were younger and Dean took care of him all the time, hasn't been for awhile.
