Good news in, folks. Apparently, the lord of mercy and possibly incorrect test-checking has smiled down upon me, for I just found out that I passed my certification exam. Somehow. (Though I do not yet have the nifty little plastic card that says I did, so theoretically there's still enough time for the decision to be revoked.) I'm simultaneously terrified, disbelieving, and ecstatic, because there is a little voice in my head insisting that I am SUPER-EMT! Faster than a speeding ambulance, more crafty than your average passerby! Jumping around in cape and tights (but with my underwear underneath my clothes), waiting to save that woman about to be hit by a bus or that old man at the bus stop that will surely experience a myocardial infarction in three, two, one -

As E so kindly put it: God save the Virginians.


Also, I really need an AWESOME! icon. With that AWESOME! kinda feel. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm afraid I don't have a suggestion on the icon front. However, the combination of title and icon used in your post here makes me laugh in a distinctly uncomfortable and vaguely ominous way. 0_o

Oh dear. He does seem to be eying that title in a vaguely creepy way, does he? This is the problem with John Sheppard: there are just so much to work with. Not to fear: the title was actual a subtle dig at the ineptness of VA lawmakers. Can you believe it took until really, really recently - like, within the last five years - to make the reporting of chid abuse mandatory for EMTs? Eesh.

I'm not sure it counts as AWESOME!, but I've been thinking of rotating some of my own icons out for new ones, and I found #6 in this set (http://newkidfan.livejournal.com/134711.html?mode=reply&format=light) absurd and funny enough that I might add it myself. (John Sheppard with a bird on his head... does not really resemble the photo of Alfred Hitchcock, for more reasons than one.)
