Apparently [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang's in its final year. No surprise, with the show ending; fandom will move on, and indeed it appears that most of it already did. In a way I feel cheated, coming into SGA as I did - that is to say, late - but I suppose it's my own damn fault, or maybe fate, or a combination of both. One way or another, that's the way it is.

My point is: if it weren't the last year, I probably wouldn't be considering signing up for the Big Bang. I have the attention span of a gopher; I write pretty little 3000-5000 word character pieces with no visible plot. I can't do dialogue. But it's the last year, and I'm not nearly ready to let go of this fandom yet.

I don't want it to be something I regret not doing.

Conversely, I don't want to get halfway through and regret it then because I can't do it.

So. Yeah. Advice?

Oh, go for it, obviously. For all the reasons you listed, plus, I want to read it, but whether you finish or not, writing is never wasted, so why wouldn't you try?

Ha. Writing may not be wasted, but time can be; I don't want to end up writing myself into circles, as I have done in the past when I tried for something big, and if it's not wasted languishing on my harddrive, I'd be hard-pressed to think exactly what it's doing.
