This is a lovely take on both Biro's perspective and Biro herself. You've built up a great picture of her. I particularly like the Athosian children thinking she named her biros after herself, and also the sharp and painful little flashes of childhood memory. This all goes really well with her reaction to what she sees at the end. There's quite a lot of sweetness, but it's not in any way cloying.
