Honestly, your post is the first one I've come across that makes me understand more about Ruby as a person instead of just a piece in a puzzle, and how things might look from her perspective. Fair enough, I also haven't gone looking for meta on her and I joined the fandom pretty late, so I don't know what I've missed. But I get the impression that there's a lot of mysogyny involved whenever Ruby's discussed, and that's something I'd really rather stay away from.
