AND THE HANNA-LOVE SPREADS. :D :D :D I will be very happy if this continues to get around in live-action fandom, I must say--mostly it's just been making the rounds in anime fandom, and everybody deserves to know of it. Everybody.

Agreed! It is a fantastic piece of work. Though I'm not sure of the fandom potential, exactly, because the relationship that seems the most intimate and, if I may, slashy, is - er, necrophilia. And not in a vampire-necrophilia way, decomposing body necrophilia way.

I believe most of the people who ship it to that extent tend to ignore the biological ramifications. *g* And it's not like he's especially rotting, we haven't seen bits fall off or anything--but I personally think the lack of bloodflow might, er, cause some problems in that arena, so. To me it is just like crazy-strong bromance. When you make someone breakfast every morning, there's gotta be some kind of love there.

No bits falling off, but the vampire did rip his arm off with not too much trouble, and I think they mentioned the smell at some point. (Or lack thereof, because of the relative freshness of his corpse.) I personally think the lack of bloodflow might, er, cause some problems in that arena, so. Rule 34 persists: someone has already wrote it.

Crazy-strong bromance ftw. To be honest, even if Zombie wasn't a zombie, I'd prefer it that way. It's so nice to find such a loving, sweet, codependent friendship in any source, especially to the degree of happiness and not-fucked-up-ed-ness that Hanna and Zombie have. Like, they love and care about each other, and don't feel that they have to wade through brambles because of it. & they have their secrets, yes, but their relationship seems so easy and ultimately not bothered by them - unlike, say, Holmes and Watson, or Clark and Lex, or any of the other intense bromancers.

I tried to read that fic but I couldn't get past the summary, oh dear. Perhaps the ship in a sexual context is more of a brain-breaker for me than I thought. And yes, a good portion of why I love them so is that they aren't fucked-up--I think one of the main themes of HINABN is "horrible things happen, but don't let it get you down", and their friendship is a prime example of that. By all rights Hanna and Zombie ought to be bitter, angry, miserable people, but they aren't, so they get to be friends in an uncomplicated way rather than an angsty one. Being well-adjusted: it makes your social life much easier!

YES, THIS. And I love that the comic isn't entirely fluffy - like, they deal with some pretty heavy themes, especially in Lee storyline, and the follow-up this past week and a half or so. (Lots of love for how Tessa's dealt with Zombie's death. "Easier to forget than to be forgotten"; the paper cranes; Zombie's mindscape...)

It's basically the adventures of a mysterious (yet goofy) supernatural investigator and his zombie partner. With, you know, an ever-widening slew of other characters - ghosts, werewolves, vampires, selkies, Doc Worth (not sure what he is, except a sleaze) - that get caught up in Hanna's orbit. It's great, and all the characters are incredibly lovable, even the villains. I would suggest starting at the beginning and working your way through - it's a very fast read, and makes a lot more sense that way than trying to read the summaries, since every person who's tried to summarize it (the author, me) has basically failed.

Spread the Siken-love! Though I'm wondering if there's a second volume out there somewhere, since my favorite Richard Siken poem ("The Love Song of the Square Root of Minus One") doesn't appear to be in Crush. But it's possible that, since I've only gotten through the first section of poems, I just missed it.

Just finished the first chapter of Hanna is not a boy's name and now I want an AU with them as Supernatural characters. I mean, Zombie Guy is pretty much Castiel, isn't he?

I DUNNO, MY MIND IS CRAZY SOMETIMES.

Okay, this comic has nothing of Supernatural's darkness (at least as far as I've read) and what I'm going to write now is silly.
But you know, the general lack of Zombie's facial expressions. ("I didn't realize I smiled so little. Maybe I'll have to work on that.") and the way he tries to fit in at least somewhat. (Castiel is also somewhat working on his behaviour, picking up the Winchester's bad habits.)
His ability to kick ass and know when something supernatural is around.
The tie.

And well, IT WOULD BE FUNNY! :D Stranger things have happened so if anyone who's gifted with writing silly Supernatural-Aus should ever stumble over this, it would make me very happy. ;)
