heads up, who-heads: the eleventh doctor is in the house!

Well, folks, it's official. The new Doctor is Matt Smith. And is it just me, or does he look rather... Edward-ish?

... similar to Twilight's Edward? I think it's mostly the mood lighting in the picture.

Though I am totally in agreement with your icon about the WTFery, or what in the gosh-darn heck whatever.

He just... does not look Doctor-y. And perhaps it's just the lighting, but he's not the first Edward lookalike I've seen tromping around, and the possibility of that being a trend, is... disturbing, to say the least, because Edward is nothing if not that.

Agreed on both counts! (Though I haven't seen other Edward-alikes yet. Should I count myself lucky?)

I think I resisted the comparison because Robert Patterson has significantly more eyebrow, but you are clearly not the only one who's noticed a resemblance... ahaha (http://p-userpic.livejournal.com/83743606/7826615). Disturbing, yet I wouldn't be surprised if that was the idea when Smith was chosen! And the Doctor's incarnations are getting younger and younger - he'll be embryonic by Thirteen!

Ah, well, that's not too bad. They can stick him in the Hand Jar.

...But on a more serious note, agh. I am so ready for this Twilight mania to be over, over, over!

They can stick him in the Hand Jar. !!

A+, would LOL again.

Yeah, it can't end fast enough. Do you know a lot of Twilight fans? I've been spared.

I kind of hope they go steampunk with his clothing. I think he could pull that off really well.

[identity profile] sel-forming.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It's kind of hard to envision, but maybe! I mean, the hair would help. It's all... Victorian. Except, you know, not.

[identity profile] ticketsonmyself.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
The man has a pompadour! It's anime hair!

[identity profile] vanitashaze.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I think there may be a little mullet action at the back, too.

[identity profile] ticketsonmyself.livejournal.com 2009-01-15 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Points for observation! - I laughed, I laughed.

[identity profile] blueymcphluey.livejournal.com 2009-01-07 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Have you seen him in action? He also acts rather edwardish. Well, except from what I've seen, Matt's awesomer.

[identity profile] sel-forming.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
In action, no, I haven't. Has he actually been in anything? His Wikipedia page seems to suggest not.

[identity profile] sel-forming.livejournal.com 2009-01-09 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
And this is me forgetting to sign in again. D'oh.

[identity profile] ticketsonmyself.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
He's been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl and The Ruby in the Smoke and its sequel. I laugh and laugh thinking of the Eleven/Rose graphics that people must already be making.

[identity profile] vanitashaze.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
They made a movie out of The Ruby in the Smoke? Wow. I completely missed that.

[identity profile] blueymcphluey.livejournal.com 2009-01-10 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
well he's in this (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Zog-6SrGxE0) and that's all I need

Okay, wow, [livejournal.com profile] ticketsonmyself was totally right: POM-PA-DOUR. That man's hair is scary. Though his voice isn't half bad.
