You put it better than I could. It's sad, really. I love a lot of what the show does with regards to masculinity, but then when it gets to female characters it just digs into the same old stereotypes. Though, to be fair, that really isn't an issue unique to Supernatural.

And yes, Misha Collins is made of awesome and rainbows and unicorns. No doubt.
