Not like this bothers him or it should; he’s the first and so it’s inevitable, really. ::pets him:: Is good to see he's toned down the ego throughout the years ;) But one thing you must (I must, haha) appreciate about him is his quiet kind of ego that he doesn't overly shove in your face. Loudly speaking, I mean.
Adam Monroe might have been someone’s beginning, once. I had a question and I was wondering if when you wrote that you were thinking literally or figuratively? Obviously both work fabulously, but, you know... Inside the authors head and etc.
Rats ate Adam Monroe the first time he crossed the ocean. It's so very wrong that this made me almost laugh. It probably would have done if my mind didn't immediately make a leap from this, to witch trials, to Monty Python and make me ponder Adam chained up in a dungeon yelling at the guards for showing favoritism and not torturing him enough.
...
Anyways!
Very disturbing imagery, my lack-of-linear thoughts aside. :)
If you want to forget something—if you want to hide something, want to push away all evidence that you made a mistake—bury it, and bury it deep. This story has so many poetic lines and subversion surrealism but I loved that line the best. You invoke so many themes but... This just stood out for me.
Poor Adam, but yay me for getting to read this awesome story.
